On Thursday 22 February 2007 Wembley Playcraft Ltd (Company Number 4469121) announced “That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this Meeting that the Company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the Company be wound up voluntarily, and that Simon Kirkhope and Peter W Engel, of Solomon Hare Business Rescue, Oakfield House, Oakfield Grove, Clifton, Bristol BS8 2BN, be and are hereby appointed Joint Liquidators for the purposes of such winding-up.”

Wembley Playcraft Ltd liquidation was not a real surprise, the company created in the Summer of 2002 in an attempt to bring back the troubled Wembley Playcraft Sports & Toys Limited which dissolved in 1994. Although the company could have emerged from the ashes which their history of products but instead of using solid lines from the back catalogue they opted for basic import lines.
