Space Hopper Guinness Book of World Records Attempt
Families are being called on to help put Norwich on the map and break a world record - to have the most people jumping on space hoppers at the same time.
Wednesday 7th October 2009 - postponed due to risk of flood.
The bid was due to take place between 1.30pm and 2.45pm on the school's playing field. Anyone wanting to take part must register in advance by emailing oz.osborne@rethink.org, or calling 07771 608327.
Organisers are hoping to thrash the current record of 1,257 people bouncing on hoppers for one minute, which is currently held by a university in Mexico.
They already have 900 pupils signed up to the bid, but are looking for the last few hundred volunteers to help them break the record by getting on the sixties and seventies craze toys.
Part of national mental health campaign Time to Change, organisers have already rented 1,300 space hoppers ready for the day and are just looking for people to register to take one on. Anyone with their own hopper is also welcome to attend if they register in advance.
